Computer printing

 

Printing is available in the Library via the Pharos printing system. Users of the Library can print documents retrieved from the Web or their own documents from all public access workstation in Main Library (Meric, Academic Staff reading room, WI& SC, Overnight and Postgraduate reading rooms), Medical Library, Study carrels and Meric workstations) and Science Libraries (Meric and Study carrels)

You are automatically allowed to use the Library printing facilities if you are registered with the Library. Users with reading and reference privileges only, must ask staff to create an account on the Pharos system.

Paying for printing

Black and white printing is $5.00 per page. Colour printing is $35.00. Payments to credit your printing account can be made as follows: Main Library - Reprographic Services Unit (RESU) during office hours (9:00 AM to 7:00 PM) and at the Issue desk after 7:000 PM. In the Branches at the Circulation Desks. You must present your ID card at time of payment. Please note: a minimum payment of $50.00 must be made. To facilitate printing from the Overnight Reading Room, you must credit your accounts during the regular opening hours of the Library.

Main Library : Black and white laser printing on 8½ x 11 (letter) or 8½ x 14 (legal) size paper.
Main Library: Colour laser printing on 8½ x 11 (letter)
Science Library: Black and white laser printer printing on 8½ x 11 (letter) or 8½ x 14 (legal) size paper.
Medical Library:. Black and white printing on 8½ x 11 paper

Printing Procedures

Using the application’s print functions, send your document for printing. You will be prompted to enter your Pharos a count number. This is a 10 digit number ("20" and followed by your 8-digit student or staff ID) and is the same number that is used to access workstations controlled by the Pharos Signup System.

Your document is then queued for printing, and will remain queued for up to three hours, after this time it is automatically deleted.

When you are ready to receive your printed document, go to the designated Print Station for your workstation and log on using your Pharos Account and password. You will then see a list of the documents you have sent for printing as well as the balance in your Print Account. You can select and print a document, at which point, the cost of printing will be deducted from your account. You can also delete a document from this list, and your account will not be charged.

Medical Library - Hopwood Centre

Note Print stations control printers only for the Branch in which they are located.
