INCOMING
STUDENTS
Eligibility
(a) Students participating in an exchange with the University of the West Indies will be selected by the relevant authority at their home university, but approval for admission to the University of the West Indies will be the responsibility of the University of the West Indies.
(b) Inorder to be eligible for admittance to the UWI a foreign student should
(i) normally be registered as a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate student at the sending institution (ii) have spent at least one academic year at the sending institution
(iii) have attained at least a good Grade ‘B’ average or the equivalent at his/her institution
(iv) have not been the subject of any disciplinary action and have no such action pending against him/her at his/her institution
Duration & Numbers
(a) Exchanges involving foreign students coming to the UWI may be arrange for one semester but for not more than one academic year.
(b) The number of students eligible to participate in the programme will be jointly determined by the UWI and the collaborating institution.
(c) The deadline for receiving application from foreign students shall be March 1 for one academic year or for the first semester, and October 1 for the second semester only.

Duration
Exchange programmes may be arranged for one semester but for no more than 1 academic year. Note, however, that most universities arrange exchanges for a year rather than a semester. Summer programmes may also be arranged where feasible, particularly for programmes in modern languages. The deadline for submission of all applications is March 01st for the academic year or for the first semester, and October 01st for the second semester only.
Eligibility
1. To be eligible for consideration for exchange programmes, students must be nominated by UWI, but approval for admission will be the responsibility of the host (receiving) university.
2. To be eligible for selection the UWI student should:
(a) be registered as a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate student;
(b) have spent at least one academic year at the UWI, but not yet be in the last semester of his/her Final year of study;
(c) have attained at least a good ‘B’ average, GPA 3 or the equivalent, and;
(d) have not been the subject of any disciplinary action and have no such action pending against him/he.
