FST participates in NCAR/ASU Climate Intervention Simulations Workshop

Dr. Leonardo Clarke (lecturer) and Mr. Matthew Williams (grad student) from the Department of Physics, Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), The UWI Mona participated in the "National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR)/Arizona State University (ASU) Co-creating Useful and Usable Climate Intervention Simulations Workshop” on April 10-12, 2024 at Arizona State University.

The workshop represents the first step in building collaborative relationships within the NCAR’s Community Climate Intervention Strategies (CCIS) Program and potential users of a portfolio of future techniques to understand the consequences across a variety of climate responses, including mitigation, adaptation, and forms of climate intervention such as reforestation, biofuels, marine carbon dioxide removal, and solar radiation modification.
