Bio: Ms. Carol Williams is an MPhil student of Communication Studies at CARIMAC, UWI. She works in the field of communication and public relations. Her research interests include climate change communication and participatory communication.

Abstract: Communication challenges continue to stymie climate change action in the Caribbean. Caught in this nexus are university climate change scientists, newspaper journalists and editors, all of whom serve critical mediating roles with the different publics. This study utilizes a mixed-methods analytical approach to shed light on obstacles to communication between these groupings by focusing on Barbados and Grenada, two Caribbean Small Island Developing States (SIDS).
